April will be a very quiet month for exhibitions as the region observes Ramadan. May, by contrast, is a very different story. With 23 exhibitions at DWTC, ADNEC, and Expo Centre Sharjah, it’s a great time of year to explore new opportunities.

26 – 28 April at DWTC

The region’s leading student recruitment event, The Global Education & Training Exhibition (GETEX) enables education providers to raise their profile and enroll new students.

Launched in 1984, GETEX attracts more than 25,000 local and expatriate students who are actively looking for higher education, professional development and training options.

For 2023, features include the Counsellors Forum, open to heads of exhibiting universities, schools and education regulators. The Gulf Education Agents Meeting also offers an opportunity for regional and international universities to cultivate positive relationships with education agents in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, the Education Leaders Networking Evening offers a chance to shape public-private partnerships and engage with academic professionals, thought-leaders and education innovators.

The three-day event includes more than 20 live seminars, giving educators a window to engage with students and their parents, and answer questions directly.

International Apparel & Textile Fair (IATF) is the UAE’s premier platform to source fabrics, garments, handbags, footwear and clothing accessories.

Arabian Travel Market (ATM) is the region’s leading global event for the inbound and outbound travel sector. For the last 29 years, it has connected international products and destinations with buyers and travel trade visitors.

For 2023, ATM’s main focus will be ‘Working Towards Net Zero’ and organiser, Reed Exhibitions, will unveil its own dedicated sustainability pledge. This not only aims to make ATM 2023 greener, but to achieve 30 long-term sustainability goals.

Attendees will be invited to help map the industry’s future and explore new trends and opportunities for growth, innovation and effective recovery. Reigniting the travel industry remains a driving force for ATM, as the post-Covid world continues to take shape.

3 – 14 May at Expo Centre Sharjah

SCRF aims to enrich children’s imaginations and present opportunities for them to make life-long friends through reading.

It’s more than a festival – it’s an ecstatic celebration that goes beyond one age group, enriching the whole family whilst instilling a love of reading in the youngest of children.

The festival returns each year under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the patronage of his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The festiva aims become the biggest children’s book fair in the region and attract massive participation from visitors or commercial entities.

5 – 6 May at DWTC

The first and only international exhibition of its kind in the MENA region, Pet World Arabia is an essential platform for pet-related businesses to promote their products and services. It’s also a fun and entertaining event for pet-loving consumers.

The trade show attracts a diverse range of industry players, including international pet distributors, wholesalers, dealers, traders, retailers and manufacturers. Products encompass accessories, food, veterinary equipment, medicine and new technologies.

The range caters to all types of pet from the popular to the unusual. As such, the event offers the ideal mix for breeders, food suppliers, veterinary experts, pet grooming and salon operators, insurance companies, pet trainers and logistics players such as importers and relocation experts.

The International Confederation of Plastic Surgery Societies (ICOPLAST) offers a platform for surgeons and clinicians from around the world to present their work and discuss the latest advances in the field of plastic surgery.

The event’s aim is to educate, communicate, advocate and advance this specialty globally, in order to benefit both patients and practitioners, as well as the overall profession.
ICOPLAST seeks to progress reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery training and patient care, in a conducive learning environment.

For 2023, the three-day congress will feature more than 60 associations and countries, bringing together the global plastic surgery community, from surgeons to care providers alike.

Hosted by TAQA and held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khalid Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, The World Utilities Congress will convene the global power and water industry to converge and discuss trends and technologies impacting future power and water demand.
